This rainy weather makes gardening less pleasant, but it is actually perfect weather for dividing and moving perennials. The Craftsbury Public Library's annual Plant Sale is coming up on Saturday, May 20, and we would love any extras that you can pot up for sale. We are delighted to take any perennials that you have extras of, any vegetable or flower seedlings, or young trees and shrubs. The Plant Sale is one of our bigger fundraisers each year, and funds the library expenses in May and June.
Ideally, plants would be potted, with soil, so they will survive for awhile if the buyer doesn't plant them right away. Even better if you know the name of the plant and can write it down, but we be on hand to identify mystery plants. Plants should get dropped off on Friday afternoon, May 19, in the church basement, where the plant sale will take place. If Friday afternoon doesn't work for you, Saturday morning is fine, or earlier in the week is also a possibility, but check in with me and we'll find a place to keep them.
If you have any questions, call the library at 586-9683. Thanks for keeping the library in mind as you go about your spring garden chores, and see you at the Plant Sale!
