Summit School Springtime Workshops – Pierre Bensusan, Laurel Premo

Laurel Premo – Fiddle Variety Masterclass
Date: Saturday, May 6th, 12-2pm
Location: Vermont Violins, 24 Main St. (Upstairs), Downtown Montpelier, VT
Cost: $30

Repertoire from American, Finnish and Swedish Fiddling Traditions.
Interesting lines running through both American and Scandinavian fiddle music are modal tonalities and dance-related meters. During this two-hour course, fiddler Laurel Premo will teach tunes from several Scandinavian and American sources and discuss bowing, intonation and pulse to help your playing inspire the dance it was created for.

Pierre Bensusan – Masterclass Guitar Workshop
Date: Sunday, May 7th, 2-3:30pm
Location: Center for Arts and Learning, 46 Barre St., Montpelier, VT
Cost: $30

Pierre plays in DADGAD tuning but while the seminar is not about DADGAD per se, Pierre will share his experience of this tuning. Pierre Bensusan's workshops are open to any guitarist, from every musical horizon, who has already attained a competent technical level.
