Anima Women’s Vocal Ensemble, with the Fyre and Lightning Consort, offers Medieval, Renaissance, and traditional music for the coming of spring. From the soaring chants of Hildegard von Bingen to the complex polyphony of Palestrina, the music celebrates the green and fertile earth, the springing forth of new life, and the fragrance of lilies and roses. Other composers include Dufay, Lasso, and Allegri, as well as various anonymous composers.
