Free Workshop - Managing Forests for Water Quality

Foresters, loggers and landowners are welcome to join Forests, Parks & Recreation’s, David Wilcox, Watershed Forester, and Rick Dyer, Lamoille County Forester, to review the revisions to the Acceptable Management Practices (AMPs) for Maintaining Water Quality on Logging Jobs in Vermont. The workshop will be held at the Waterville Town Hall on May 23rd, from 9AM-12PM. A morning presentation will outline some of the updates to the AMPs, and then participants will drive to a private forest in Belvidere for a site visit that demonstrates some of these practices.

Kim Jensen, from Lamoille County Conservation District, and Nancy Allen, from USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, will be available to discuss programs that are available for landowners to help meet their goals to protect forest water quality.

SAF forester licensing credits and LEAP credits are being pursued for this workshop.
