National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Past event
Apr 29, 2017, 10 AM to 2 PM

Most people who abuse prescription painkillers get them from friends or family – often straight out of the medicine cabinet. You can help prevent medication abuse by disposing of unused and unwanted medications.

On April 29 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., health departments and drug disposal sites around the country will join the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to hold National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, providing a safe, convenient and responsible way to dispose of prescription drugs, while educating about the potential for abuse and medications. Find participating sites in Vermont at www.DEA.gov

Vermonters have a number of options when it comes to prescription drug disposal sites, including the South Burlington Police Department which has a drop box available to residents 24/7 to dispose of medications.
