Alex Smith and The Rough & Tumble Band... Alex Smith, a Leicester resident when not touring, moved to Vermont from the Adirondack Mountains in Northern New York. He is a Nationally-touring songwriter playing songs from his latest release “Close To Home”. His music strives first and foremost to echo the people and the culture of that area. The music moves between Alt-Country, Bluegrass and Folk but it's always seeking to support the feature Smith finds most important: the story. Each of Smith's characters lives and breathes a balance between beauty and imperfection. His stories draw on the triumphs and hardships of friends, relatives and neighbors near and far. Accompanying Alex is the Rough and Tumble Band, originally from Nashville, TN. They are an Americana-Folk duo with close harmonies, versatile instrumentation and deliberate songwriting with a nudge of the elbow and a tongue in the cheek. Haunting, quirky, solemn and spirited, the Rough and Tumble are for the faint of heart and the strong of will. The duo have 3 EP's and one double album under their belts, a year long project aptly named “The Rough and Tumble's Holiday Awareness Campaign”, in which the couple wrote, recorded and released 24 songs in correlation with 24 under-appreciated, uncelebrated, or misunderstood holidays. Tickets are...Adults, $10...Seniors (60 & over) Students (17 & under) and Military, $8. Children 5 and under are FREE. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
