Powerful Tools for Caregiversis coming to Hardwick Monday, May 1.
Feeling stretched as a family caregiver? Learn how to have a more positive experience as a family caregiver.
Powerful Tools teaches caregivers how to take care of themselves rather than focusing on the disease or limitations their family member is living with. Last year, a participant shared on her evaluation: “I am taking better care of myself and planning more for myself. I have more patience and compassion for my spouse.”

The six-week program helps both men and women caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, and increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.

Over the years Powerful Tools has also helped caregivers whose loved ones are facing challenges from dementia, cancer, Parkinson’s disease as well as adult children with disabilities and family members living in a nursing home or even in another state.

The class is offered by the Northeast Kingdom Council on Aging and facilitated by Nancy Oakes and Kathy Hemmens. Donations are appreciated but not necessary. $25 suggested donation helps defray costs.

Six Mondays beginning May 1st , 6-7:30 P.M.
Memorial Building, 3rd Floor, Hardwick

Call Nancy or Pam of the NEK Council on Aging at 748-5182 to register.
