Help Protect Your Watershed!

Past event
Apr 29, 2017, 9 AM to 12 PM

The Missisquoi River Basin Association would love your involvement in these two great opportunities to protect your watershed:

- On April 29th from 9am-noon, join us at Randall View Farm (928 VT-100) in Lowell to plant trees along the Missisquoi River! We'll be taking direct action to protect our watershed and our climate by adding a riparian buffer along the river; simultaneously stabilizing the banks and increasing the amount of carbon dioxide that is removed from the air! Equipment will be provided; boots are recommended.

- Join our water sampling team! The MRBA has been collecting water samples to monitor the health of our watershed and determine locations for improvement projects for over a dozen years. This summer, we're asking YOU to join the team! We have sampling locations in and around Fairfield, Highgate, and Enosburgh that are as-yet unassigned. We will provide the collection bottles and arrange for drop-off pick up; you will then go visit a beautiful part of the watershed, enjoy our streams and rivers, and collect the samples that will help determine our improvement activities. We collect samples every other Wednesday throughout the summer, and can provide coverage for vacations and conflicts. Our sampling season starts on May 17th and WE NEED YOUR HELP!
