Earth day has come and gone, but there is still time to show this beautiful town all your love by participating in Green Up Vermont Day on Saturday, May 6th. Volunteers statewide will come together in their communities to tackle trash and litter along roadsides, in public spaces, natural landscapes and waterways.

Green bags are now available at the Town Clerk's office. You can pick bags up this week or next, and they will also be available on the morning of Green Up Day on the Village Green during our event from 8-1. When you stop by to pick up your bags you can also highlight the section of road you are greening up on the large town road map. Enjoy the day by greening up together with friends, neighbors, or your co-workers. Make a plan for the big day! You may even want to Green Up one of your favorite local trails - the Rail Trail, Journey's End, Prospect Rock, or Gomo Town Forest... So many to choose from!

After all your wonderful efforts you may bring your full bags to the Village Green from 8-1 on Green Up Day (next to the Studio Store). We'll be there to thank you with yummy locally roasted coffee from Old Dodge Farm Roasters, homemade cookies, fruit - and thanks to a generous donation from Sterling Market - lemonade, hotdogs and all the fixings. We'll have a raffle you can enter as well with generous donations from Johnson Hardware, Rental, Farm and Garden and a few gift certificates to local businesses. Live music will serenade us from at least 10:00 on, maybe even longer. More details to come on that.

But the best part about Green Up Day will be that warm fuzzy feeling you get from a job well done and a country road that is even more lovely than before.
