“Comic Relief – A Benefit for COTS” takes place at 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at the FlynnSpace (147 Main St.). Tickets ($25) on sale at www.flynntix.org.
Comic Relief was a comedy benefit that first aired in 1986 on HBO. The fundraiser, hosted by Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams and Billy Crystal, showcased 47 comics and raised $2.5 million to help people who were homeless.
Vermont comedian Kathleen Kanz works in affordable housing, admires the work of COTS, and is the founder of the Green Mountain Comedy Festival. It occurred to Kathleen that she could combine those things and create Comic Relief – A Benefit for COTS.
The lineup for Comic Relief for COTS includes: Kathleen Kanz; Phil Davidson; Autumn Engroff Spencer; John Rodgers; Joel Chaves; and Tracie Spencer.
All of the comics are enthusiastically donating their time to COTS. Proceeds from the $25 tickets benefit COTS (purchase at www.flynntix.org).
The show will include some mature content; parents, please note there will be some profanity and suggestive content.
