Green Up Day is fast approaching!
Saturday, May 6,
9-12 at the Shoreham Firehouse!
There will be free ice cream for kids who participate, and plants for the adults!
Bags and gloves are now available at the library and the Town Clerks office.
The Green Up organization is trying to get a better idea of the number of volunteers and bags. There will be sign-up sheets with the bags. When you pick up your supplies please take a minute to let us know where you plan on greening up! This will also help us to know where to send volunteers so we can make sure all our roads are covered!
In an effort to stick to the purpose of Green Up Day, and to make things easier for our amazing town crew, we want to ask people to:
-Only bring roadside trash. This isn’t about cleaning up our yards and garages - we are cleaning up our roadways!
-Contact us if you are unable to bring the full bags in. We are happy to pick them up, but we need to know where they are!
-When possible, take 2 bags and use one only for recyclables – lets cut down on our landfill waste!
There will be metal collection at the Firehouse as well.
The brand new Girl Scout troop in town is running a bottle drive to help start their programming. They’ll be collecting bottles at recycling behind the Congregational Church on Green Up Day.
