In this workshop we will build a small Adobe brick wall. We will be working with real Adobe bricks which we’re ordering from New Mexico.
In this workshop, we will learn:
- about the history of Adobe
- how to make the adobe bricks – and you’ll get to take one home.
- how to make and use adobe mud mortar
- about testing soil and making mixes
- about adobe load bearing considerations.
The workshop will meet in the morning, tentatively 9am. Each day we will break for lunch, and will continue until about 6pm. There will also be a slideshow presentation on Saturday evening after the class (depending on the weather, on-site or in Montpelier).
The workshop will happen rain or shine – we have a large tarp and a shelter to keep us dry.

When: Weekend of May 13 and 14 (Saturday and Sunday)
