Opioid Awareness 101

St. Johnsbury, May 3, 2017: This presentation will be held from 6:30 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Catamount Arts Cabaret Room, 115 Eastern Ave.; St. Johnsbury, Vermont 05819. This event is free and open to the public.

Through its “Opioid Awareness 101” program, G2 Focused Information provides education and awareness that serves to educate. This presentation includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

• Substance Use Disorder as a chronic brain disease, not a moral failing
• The history of the current US heroin epidemic
• Lessons about corporate America
• Things you need to know about legal prescription opioids
• Things that doctors aren’t telling you and why
• Things you need to know about illegal street drugs

Jon will be joined by a co-presenter who is in long-term recovery from opioid addiction. G2 Focused Information has presented to over 5,000 attendees…high schools, businesses, community coalitions, parent groups and colleges and universities.

Community partners include: DART (Drug Abuse Resistance Team), Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, and the St. Johnsbury District Office of the Vermont Department of Health

Funding is made possible by the Regional Prevention Partnerships grant initiative; the result of a cooperative agreement with the US Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
