Coat Drive Beginning at Moretown Community Dinner

Past event
Nov 6, 5:30 PM to 3 PM, Dec 6, 2013

Hello again,

I'm sorry that I didn't mention in my earlier message about the start of a coat drive at the Moretown Community dinner this Wednesday. For the third year, my daughter Sofya is collecting coats, boots, vests, snowpants, water-proof gloves and mittens, thermal underwear, wool socks, etc, as a community service project? Please bring items that you no longer need but will serve our neighbors in keeping warm this winter.

This "coat" drive is specifically for cold weather clothing and foot wear. Please bring other items (like tee shirts, cotton socks, flip-flops, etc) to the drop boxes around town (the Middlesex Country Store, the Moretown Town Office, Trinity Methodist Church in Montpelier, etc) or to businesses that can accept donated items of all types.

The Moretown coat and winter weather clothing drive will end on Friday December 6th. Soon after that Sofya and I will sort through the items we received, distribute them within the community as needed, and then give what remains to the two local food shelves-- one in Waitsfield and one in Middlesex. Last year she collected over 50 items which we gave to the food shelves, and they all went home immediately with food shelf clients.

If you have winter weather clothing and foot wear that you can share, please feel free to leave them in the blue and red box that will be inside the doors at the Moretown School, and thank you very much for your contribution!

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the coat drive in Moretown or if you know of someone who might need winter weather items.

Stay warm!
Beki
