Local Flooding Hazards Increase as Arctic Warms

Dramatic new developments in the polar Arctic are rapidly changing the weather for North America and Vermont.
Abrupt shifts of wind direction, fierce local storms, and sudden dumps of many inches of rain in a concentrated area are becoming more common. Michael will look at the chain of possible new causes from up at the Arctic Ocean and over Greenland; as well as the ways we can prepare as a community.
Michael Cerulli Billingsley is Plainfield's Emergency Management Coordinator and a village resident. He has been studying weather patterns over the North Atlantic, starting in prehistoric times.
