Green Mountain College invites you to its annual Thomas L. Benson Lecture which features speakers doing cutting edge work on social and ecological sustainability issues. This year's speaker is Eddie Glaude, Jr., who will present "An Uncommon Faith: W.E.B. DuBois and African American Religion," on Thursday, April 27 in Ackley Hall on Green Mountain's Poultney campus.

Dr. Glaude is the William S. Tod Professor of Religion and African American Studies and Chair of the Center for African American Studies at Princeton University. He is the author of several books, including “Democracy in Black: How Race Still Enslaves the American Soul,” “Exodus! Religion, Race, and Nation in Early 19th Century Black America,” “In a Shade of Blue: Pragmatism and the Politics of Black America,” and editor of “Is it Nation Time? Contemporary Essays on Black Power and Black Nationalism.” In 2009, Dr. Glaude was awarded Princeton’s President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching. He is a frequent contributor to MSNBC and other media venues on race, politics, religion, and other topics.
