Holocaust Remembrance Day Program
Sunday, April 23, 2017 | 10:30am | Temple Sinai
On Sunday, April 23rd, Max Beer and Deena Dlusy-Apel will show and discuss their recent documentary film Nobody was Interested. Nobody Asked: The Holocaust, the Survivors and the Montreal Jewish Community.
Through direct interviews with survivors and with members of the Montreal Jewish community, the approximately one-hour film explores the post-Holocaust experiences of those who arrived in Montreal in the late 1940s and early 1950s, and the ways in which they were received. For many years, Max Beer and Deena Dlusy-Apel have carried out interviews with Holocaust survivors in conjunction with the Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling at Concordia University. They are also affiliated with the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre.
This event will be held at Temple Sinai, 500 Swift Street (corner of Dorset Road) in South Burlington. A light lunch and refreshments will follow. All are welcome to attend the Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah) program without charge.
