Reading Challenge

Hi Folks!
We would like adults to be the role models for reading at the school on Friday, November 15th.
We need at least one person reading in our designated area for the entire school day to meet our challenge. Would you please consider coming in to make sure our seat is occupied?

The Book It Program is challenging every school principal to “read your heart out” during National Young Readers Week! (November 11-15) Mr. Beal needs our help to meet this challenge. We are looking for ANY student or ANY parent or ANY community member to come in and read Friday, November 15th during our school day (7:55 AM - 3:05 PM).
COME ON IN and R E A D! Bring your own book, newspaper or reading device! (We will also have reading material to choose from.) An area will be set up in the main hallway of the school. As the students move through the hall ways that day they will see adults reading! Students may even be able to join you if they get a chance in their day to do so.

Schools that complete the challenge will be eligible to enter for a chance to win 101 copies of Jeff Kinney’s eighth book, Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck. The Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series is very popular here at MSES. We may not win the 101 copies but 3 individuals who participate in the challenge here in MSES WILL win a copy. To be eligible for a Wimpy Kid book participants must read for 30 minutes during the school day (it does not have to be all at one sitting) in our designated area (the front hallway).
Can MSES read for an entire SCHOOL DAY? Together we can! Let's do it! Please contact Mrs. Carr by replying to this post if you have any questions or if you have time in your day to fill a slot (even for 10 minutes!). The more participants, the better! Signing up in advance is appreciated so we make sure the whole day is covered but "walk-ins" that day will be welcomed! Mark your calendars! Thanks!
