Girls Nite Out Productions announces open auditions April 30th at 3:00 and May 1st at 6:30 PM (with call-backs if necessary May 2nd at 6:30) at the Davis Studio Vermont , 916 Shelburne Road, South Burlington, 05403. We will be looking for 4 actors--1 male (20s-30s), 1 female (30s-40s), 2 males (30s-40s)-- for the October production of “Ripcord” by David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by (me!) Abbie Tykocki.

A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Assisted Living Community, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new-arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary. A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-up(wo)manship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

As heartfelt as it is deliciously inappropriate, this hilarious and touching Vermont premiere marks the 9th production for Girls Nite Out Productions.
