On Wednesday, April 19, from 7 to 9 pm, the Deborah Rawson Memorial Library
will host a presentation and discussion on carbon pricing. There are
several routes which can be taken for putting a price on the use of fossil
fuels and redirecting the generated funds back to the population in
innovative ways. Hannah Huber, of the Vermont Natural Resources Council and
Christine Fornaciari, of Vermont Public Interest Research group will discuss
the experiences of other states and provinces that have implemented carbon
pricing. The presentation will be followed by a discussion regarding what
can be done in Vermont including how towns and individuals may help, as well
as thoughts about possible redistribution of the funds raised.
Light refreshments will be provided but this is a waste-free event and
attendees are asked to bring their own bowls and mugs. For more information
contact Reed Sims at reed.sims05@gmail or 899-4507.
