Attend the City Council meeting Monday 4/17 in support of Burlington's Walk/Bike Master Plan! 7:30pm.
At long last, it's time for everyone who wants better biking and walking in Burlington to stand up and be heard. After nearly two years of work, Burlington's first-ever Walk-Bike Master Plan is finally ready. On Monday, April 17, City Council will vote to approve the plan. Can you be there?

WHAT: City Council vote on Burlington walk-bike master plan
WHEN: Monday, April 17 at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Contois Auditorium, Burlington City Hall
Why come to this City Council meeting? Because the Mayor has given his stamp of approval to an ambitious plan for on-street bike and walk improvements this year—but nothing is guaranteed. What we know is that a huge show of support for implementation increases the chances that we'll see lots of new bike lanes, better crosswalks, and more in 2017.
If you want to take a look at the final plan that City Council will be voting on, download it at www.planbtvwalkbike.org. It's long, interesting and really well put together. Give it a read!
If you're unfamiliar with the Council process, this might be helpful:
- To stand up and share your thoughts with Council at the meeting, plan to arrive for the public forum that begins at 7:30 and time your comments to 3 minutes or less.
- If you’d just like to attend to support the conversation and hear the discussion, the Council agenda will be posted later this week. This will provide a bit more detail on where this item will fall within their agenda that night. The meetings begin at 7pm and the agenda will be posted here: http://www.boarddocs.com/vt/burlingtonvt/Board.nsf/Public
