Based on over 150 interviews gathered over 4 years in 20 countries, the award-winning film Poverty Inc. explores the hidden and less attractive side of doing good. From disaster relief to TOMS Shoes, from adoptions to agricultural subsidies, Poverty, Inc. reveals that fighting poverty is big business. But who profits the most? Discussion with faculty from Middlebury’s Global Health, Food Studies, and Privilege & Poverty programs, as well as UVM’s Education department, will follow the screening. (This was originally scheduled for March, but we had a blizzard instead.)
The screening will take place Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00 p.m. in Dana Auditorium. The auditorium is in the Sunderland Language Center building on the Middlebury College campus.
