About The Family Room:
This summer, the Family Room will part from its’ 30 year home within the Visiting Nurse Association and become a stand alone, non-profit Parent Child Center which I am now a part of the steering committee (soon to be Board of Directors).
Programs at The Family Room nurture strong families by helping parents and children play and learn together. This center helps prevent child abuse, combats post-partum depression, improves nutrition and school-readiness, provides coping skills for stressed parents and is a primary point of connection for Burlington’s large refugee population.
All are welcome, and the large “family” that gathers there represents people of all colors, religions, languages, and class backgrounds. It is truly an amazing and unique place for families in our community.
Donations from this Dance Jam will support The Family Room during this time of transition.
