Traditional Poetry Slam: Thurs., April 13, at The Taproom in St. Johnsbury, 7 PM (Sponsored by St. Johnsbury Athenaeum as part of PoemTown St. Johnsbury.) Right in the heart of downtown SJ, 397 Railroad Street. Be prepared with 2 original poems, each of which you can present in 3 minutes or less. Sign up at the door, 6:45 PM.

Anything Goes! Fri., April 14, at Lost Nation Theater, City Hall, Montpelier, 7 PM (Sponsored by Montpelier's PoemCity, the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, and Lost Nation Theater). This is an "Anything Goes!" Slam, with a 5-minute time limit, and not just poets, but all genres of performers invited: Anything Goes! including covers, with duets, quartets, solos, and, frankly, Anything Goes! but discretion is requested since this is an All-Ages Slam that asks whether the impassioned voice of a solo poet can outscore a barbershop quartet or a comedian or a musician or a harp and oboe duet.
