Hi Neighbors, V Smiley and Tandem (the production kitchen and event space @ 26 Main Street Bristol) are putting on an Easter Brunch on Sunday April 16th from 10-2 and we hope you will join us!
V Smiley grew up farming on River Road in New Haven and recently returned home to Vermont after a decade spent cooking in L.A. and Seattle, including the James Beard award winning kitchens of Sitka&Spruce and The Whale Wins. It was during V’s time at The Whale Wins that she started V Smiley Preserves, a jam company that uses honey (New Haven's Kirk Webster's honey in fact!) as the sole sweetener.
Middle Eastern and French flavors are the backbone of V’s training, which you’ll notice popping up throughout the savory leaning Easter brunch menu with dishes like roasted carrots with almond tarator and fried lemons or homemade yogurt with roasted rhubarb and pistachios. V wants everyone to order the biscuits, which come with two types of V Smiley Preserves along with 7 minute eggs, slices of cured ham and whipped ricotta. V brings a love of fresh herbs, bright citrus flavors, and a knack for using fruit and preserves in the kitchen.
Coffee is provided by Brio Coffeeworks and Jess Messer of Savoure Soda will be pouring mimosas and kir royales in addition to the natural sodas, beer and wine always available at Tandem Pop Ups.
Events at Tandem are lively and have a distinct community-feel to them. In a little town like Bristol, Tandem’s pop-ups—whether its Ethiopian, barbeque or brunch—give locals the chance to dive into a different cuisine each month.
No reservations required. This is a dine in event, but you can get coffee and biscuits & jam to go.
