Anima and Fyre and Lightning Perform at the Plainfield Opera House, Saturday, April 8th at 7:30pm
The Friends of the Plainfield Town Hall Opera House are pleased to announce a joint performance by two of central Vermont’s favorite early music ensembles, ANIMA and THE FYRE AND LIGHTNING CONSORT. This is the second in the Plainfield Town Hall Opera House Concert Series in Plainfield, Vermont.
Anima Women’s vocal ensemble offers Medieval, Renaissance, and traditional music for the coming of spring. From the soaring chants of Hildegard von Bingen to the complex polyphony of Palestrina, the music celebrates the green and fertile earth, the springing forth of new life, and the fragrance of lilies and roses. Other composers include Dufay, Lasso, and Allegri, as well as various anonymous composers.
The Fyre and Lightning Consort presents music of the 14th and 15th centuries plus music of the Sephardic Jews and some traditional Celtic tunes on voices and a wide variety of period instruments including harp, lute, vielle, viola da gamba, recorders and bagpipe.
The concert is Saturday, April 8th at 7:30pm.
Tickets are available through tickets.Catamountarts.org or at the door.
General Admission: $15, Seniors $10, Students $5, Special Rate $5*
