Are you interested in test driving an electric car? Or maybe you’ve heard about how weatherizing your home could save on your fuel bills, but don’t know where to start. What about solar power – is that a feasible option for your home? And just what is a “net-zero” home? To learn more, stop by Pawlet Energy Fair on Earth Day, April 22, from 1-4 PM at the Pawlet Town Hall.

The Pawlet Energy Group, together with Green Mountain Power and Efficiency Vermont, is hosting this event to help area residents be aware of cost-effective and sustainable energy systems. If you want to know whether solar panels, heat pumps, or other cost-saving options might work where you live, this event will help you figure out the best approach.

In addition to representatives from Green Mountain Power, Efficiency Vermont, and NeighborWorks of Western Vermont, several speakers will offer expert perspectives. Steven Letendre of Green Mountain College will discuss the economics of residential solar systems. Climate scientist and former Pawlet resident Alan Betts will explain what’s happening to the climate of Vermont. Consultants and installers of renewable energy systems, including Grassroots Solar, Power Guru, Weatherization Works, and Renewable Fuels of Vermont will be on hand to offer their expertise and advice.

Local users of renewable energy technologies, as well as those who have made home energy efficiency improvements, will be on hand. There is no fee; donations will be accepted for the Town Hall Restoration Fund. The Pawlet Town Hall is located at 122 School Street in the Pawlet village center. For more information contact the Energy Group at pawletenergygroup@gmail.com.
