Hello Neighbors!!!
There will be a partial solar eclipse on Sunday morning! I hope the skies will be clear enough to see it. Right now the forecast is for progressively clearing skies during the course of the day on Sunday.
Regardless, I will be by the Whale Tales in Williston for the sunrise. The sun rises at 6:32, and I will be there by 6:20 (Note, the time changes that night). The Whale Tales are accessible from Community Drive in Williston. Hopefully the sun will come out so we can get a chance to see it. The moon will be covering about 40% of the sun at sunrise, and will slowly move away from it within an hour. So, the earlier we see it, the better!
I have a special telescope filter so I can see the event. I also have several pairs of solar-safe glasses. PLEASE do not try to view this event on your own. It is very dangerous staring at the sun without the special filters.
I welcome any of you who are interested to join me. You can take a look through my Telescope and try on a pair of my glasses. Please hope for a clear view of the eastern sky in the morning!!
