We are hosting a house concert featuring Tim McKenzie (of "Pine Island") and Richard Ruane & Beth Duquette (of "Bread and Bones") - Date/Time: April 15, 2017 at 7p.m. Place: 62 Chapin Road, Essex, VT 05452
Beth Duquette & Richard Ruane are longtime favorites of folk music aficionados in Vermont. Both have been in several performing groups over the years including "Feast and Famine" (Richard), "Womensing" (Beth) as well as the two of them (along with bassist Mitch Barron) in the trio "Bread and Bones". Robert Resnick in Seven Days writes about their current collaboration: "Ruane is a talented storyteller, painting whole scenes with his lyrics. Duquette has a lovely voice, and her soulfulness shines through." For lots more information and a taste of their music, please visit their website: www.RichardRuane.com
Many people know of Tim McKenzie from his many years recording with "Pine Island String Band". He has a unique finger picking style that enables him to play as quickly (but more expressively) than most flat pickers. Considered a "musicians musician", Tim is now performing solo, doing his own songs and ones written by his many songwriting friends.
Donation requested: $15 (100% goes to the performers)
