The Green Mountain Chapter of Amnesty International will hold its monthly meeting at the Hyde Park Library, upstairs, on Saturday April 22, 2017 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Everyone is welcome to join our relatively small group. We write letters to the appropriate officials of this country or other countries to demand justice for people jailed for standing up for their human rights. In addition, Amnesty International USA is mobilizing to demand that Congress protects human rights, including those of people fleeing violence and seeking asylum. This campaign challenges fear, hate, and bigotry in our local circles, in our communities, and on a national level.

Join us to build an America that leads with human rights. In the U.S., Amnesty International is also working to protect refugee resettlement programs and access to asylum at the U.S southern border, in particular the harsh practice of automatically detaining children and their mothers who are seeking asylum and other practices that undermine meaningful access. Please join us in our letter writing campaign which has been immensely successful over the many years of its existence. For more information, please call Nancy Merz 802 793-1292.
