The Holdridge family of Westfield began planting black walnuts in a 5 acre pasture ten years ago. They now have about 1,000 in the ground. Come on Saturday April 22nd at 2 PM when they will discuss the benefits and challenges of planting black walnuts in Westfield for future use as veneer, sa logs or nuts. The workshop will cover many aspects of planting and managing this crop. Annie and David Holdridge will be joined by Jared Nunnery, the Orleans County forester for the Vermont Dept. of Forests, Parks and Recreation. Free Black Walnut slips will be donated to participant.
