Ferrisburgh Historical Society Meeting

Past event
Apr 9, 2017, 2 to 4 AM

The Ferrisburgh Historical Society is pleased to be invited to spend some time in the Ferrisburgh workshop of Craig Farrow, a master furniture maker and joiner. Since 1972, Craig has carved out a career building replicas of 17th and 18th century furniture and architectural components. As a joiner, turner, carver, and cabinetmaker, doing restoration, preservation and consultation, Craig works in the old, slow ways, using antique tools and finishes and making his own tools if necessary to recreate an antique with faithful precision. Craig works out of his own one man shop, but also teaches classes at historic sites including Historic Deerfield.
His skill with tools and working wood is something Craig is passionate about sharing. At our meeting, Craig will show examples, talk about and demonstrate how the wonderful work of our past was made from the tree to the finished piece.
Craig's workshop and home at located at 240 Lewis Creek Drive. Lewis Creek Drive is a turn off of Route 7, found in the dip of Route 7 just north of Dakin's, right next to the bridge over Lewis Creek. Unfortunately, there is no road sign today. We'll try to get a sign up. Turn east off Route 7, and continue straight up the Drive until you see #240 on your right. Look for the mailbox, and cars parked in front of a red workshop.
That's 2 PM, Sunday April 9. Call Silas, at 425-3380 with questions. Thanks.
