Fourth grade students in Windham Central Supervisory Union have been part of a year-long partnership with the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center looking at the work of Jacob Lawrence and Robert Rauschenberg and making connections to the exhibits of contemporary art at the museum. Collages they made will be on display at the Latchis Theater, and large cutouts they made will be part of the set design, when world-renowned jazz guitarist John Jorgenson comes to the Latchis on April 9.
Jorgenson – a Grammy-winner who has performed with such diverse musicians as Elton John, Luciano Pavarotti and Bonnie Raitt – plays with his quintet.
What: John Jorgenson Quintet
When: Sunday, 9, 3 pm.
Where: Latchis Theatre, latchisarts.org
Tickets: $15 - $25
There will be a reception to celebrate the young artists after the performance.
