According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Vermont women working full-time year-round earn an average of 84 percent of what men earn, a gender wage gap of 16%, indicating no progress from last year. 43% of Vermont women working full time do not earn enough to meet basic needs.
Tuesday, April 4, symbolizes the date in 2017 when the wages paid to American women catch up to the wages paid to men due to the gender wage gap.
Come support Equal Pay at the Vermont State House. At noon, Change The Story VT and others are hosting a press conference in the Cedar Creek Room. CTS will unveil its report "Vermont Women and Leadership" as part of the event.
