Neighbors,

The City Council is scheduled to meet on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in Contois Auditorium. Prior to convening the regular meeting, we will be receiving an update from CEDO and the City Attorney's office regarding negotiations with New Moran. This update is expected to be provided in executive session. Following the executive Session, we will convene as the Local Control Commission to vote on renewals to liquor licenses and entertainment permits.

The regular City Council meeting will begin immediately after the Commission meeting. Our first agenda item is a presentation from Gene Richards, Director of Aviation at our Airport. Mr. Richards will be presenting about noise mitigation programs at the Airport. After this presentation, Doreen Kraft, Director of Burlington City Arts, will speak to the City Council about a process for creating a new flag for Burlington. Our deliberative agenda is short and consists of three resolutions: one proclaiming April as “Fair Housing Month” and the other two are proposed amendments to City Council rules. The first proposed amendment relates to Mayoral vetoes and the second is an amendment to allow for a motion to reconsider a vote to our next meeting.

Following the votes on the deliberative agenda, the City Council is expected to go into executive session to receive an update on negotiations with UVM and the second is on Burlington Town Center litigation.

Public forum will be held as always at 7:30 p.m. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Chip Mason
