ISLANDS’ SHOWING OF THE FILM, “MERCHANTS OF DOUBT” MARCH 26.
There will be a free public showing of the documentary film, “ Merchants of Doubt”, on Sunday, March 26, 3:30 PM in the wheel chair accessible ground floor hall of the Congregational Church in South Hero, 24 South Street.
“Merchants of Doubt” is produced by documentary film award winner Robert Kenner. The film is based on the book by Naomi Oreskes, Professor of the History of Science at Harvard University and Erik Conway, Historian of Science from the California Institute of Technology. The film shows how corporations created doubt about the global climate findings of scientists.
The film will be shown by Betsy Hardy, Coordinator of Vermont Interfaith Power and Light,( VTIPL), a statewide organization that is a “faith based response to global warming”. After the film, Betsy will lead a discussion during which viewers will be invited to share their thoughts about film, issues raised, what is being done, what needs to be done and how people can be involved. The 90 minute film will start at 3:30 PM and the discussion will end at 5:30 PM. All are invited to attend.
