Spring is nearly here! Whoopee!!!

Soon we will all be planting trees, including the Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront Department along Burlington’s streets. This spring Branch Out Burlington!, in conjunction with the Village of Essex Junction Tree Advisory Committee, are offering a Tree Keeper Training for anyone who cares about trees. The training session is led by Brian Sullivan, an experienced urban forester and certified arborist. The program will cover information on how a tree grows, where to plant a tree and how to plant it and care for it, and how to prune your trees correctly. We hope this training session will help the public take care of trees where ever they are. Everyone is welcome, even those living outside Burlington. All attendees will receive a coupon for a free bag of compost from Green Mountain Compost. Attendees will also be entered in the drawing for a free tree!
