DUMMERSTON AGRICULTURE: LICALLY GROWN FOOD TODAY, FOOD SECURITY FOR TOMORROW
Transition Dummerston will hold its monthly potluck and program on Friday, March 24, 6:00-8:30 PM, at the Dummerston Congregational Church, in Dummerston Center. Potluck is at 6 PM, and program from 7 PM to 8:30 PM.
The program will feature members of the Dummerston farm community in a panel discussion on "Dummerston Agriculture; Locally Grown Food Today, Food Security Tomorrow", moderated by Vern Grubingrr, Dummerston resident and UVM Agricultural Extension Specialist.
Confirmed for the panel are Noah Hoskins of Bunker Farm, Laura Hecht of Full Plate Farm and Jack Manix of Walker Farm. All farmers from Dummerston are invited to attend and participate in the discussion. The discussion will focus on the many ways today's custodians of Dummerston's rich agricultural soils manage these resources for conservation and to promote local food security for future generations.
Dummerston's CSA farms are invited to bring literature and sign up forms for display at this potluck and program.
