Frost and Fire Band will bring foot-tapping, fiddling, concertina, piano, flute, whistles and pipes to the stage at the Music Box on Sat. April 8 at 7:30 PM. Frost and Fire plays exciting music from the Celtic and New England traditions. Blending musical influences from across the world, they share driving rhythms, sweet melodies, original compositions and lots of energy.

The group includes four veteran musicians. Aaron Marcus plays piano, concertina, banjo, foot percussion and vocals. Well-known throughout the Northeast for his performances with Giant Robot Dance, Gift of the Marcii, and The Turning Stile. Hollis Easter lends flute, bagpipes, whistle, guitar, mandolin, and vocals. He won a British championship title with Lomond & Clyde Pipe Band and was Pipe Major of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland for several international tours. He has played with Carlos Nuñez, Susie Petrov, Laura Cortese, and The Chieftains. Peter Macfarlane plays fiddle, low whistle, and adds vocals. Peter developed his characteristic Scottish fiddle style growing up in the United Kingdom, where he played regularly for Scottish dances and weddings. He also plays with Atlantic Crossing. Viveka Fox gives the group fiddle, bodhran and djembe. Viveka grew up playing the music of the British Isles alongside that of North America, and her music fuses a variety of styles, with a particular fondness for Cape Breton. Viveka has anchored the fiddle section of Atlantic Crossing since 1993.
