Meeting: Local Law Enforcement-Immigrant Interaction

Past event
Mar 27, 2017, 7 PM

Last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents detained three migrant workers in the greater Burlington area. Interaction between local police and ICE agents has been a topic of discussion nationwide. Concerned community members are inviting Winooski residents to a discussion with Winooski Chief of Police Richard Hebert and City Manager Jessie Baker this coming Monday. The goal will be to discuss the American Civil Liberty Union’s (ACLU) nine recommendations pertaining to law enforcement policies and rules aimed at impartial interactions with immigrants in our community. Please join us for this open discussion and exchange of ideas on Mon., March 27 at 7 p.m. at Winooski City Hall, 27 West Allen Street.

We welcome you to RSVP at https://go.peoplepower.org/event/action/3965 (Feel free to show up even if you haven’t RSVP’d)
