Essex Rotary Hears About Helping Immigrants in VT

Past event
Mar 22, 2017, 12 to 1:30 PM

You are invited to join the members of the Essex Rotary Club for lunch (cost $15.00) on Wednesday March 22nd at 12:10pm at The Essex Resort and Spa, when Madame Thato Ratsebe will offer her insights into the issues faced by new Americans.

Ratsebe is the Assistant Director and Programs Manager at the Association of Africans Living in Vermont(AALV).

AALV helps new Americans from all parts of the world gain independence in their new communities through a range of integration services, including bridging case management, workforce development, behavioral health awareness, and interpreter services programming. With support from their multicultural, multilingual staff, their clients are able to smoothly transition to living and working in Vermont.

Essex's very own Annie Cooper - a recipient of Essex Rotary's Service above Self Award, will join Thato at the lunch meeting. Annie connected with Thato because of their shared experience in Botswana.

Please call Jim Olsen at 518-852-1219 to make reservations to attend.
