Julia Alvarez and Sabra Field “Where do they go?” Book presentation & signing
Don't miss 2 of Vermont's favorite artists!
Celebrate the publication of "Where do they go?", a moving and comforting new book for children and readers of all ages written and illustrated by two of Vermont's most beloved artists: writer and activist Julia Alvarez and visual artist Sabra Field. Their new picture book is a beautifully crafted poem for children that gently addresses the emotional side of death. The book asks, "When somebody dies, where do they go? / Do they go where the wind goes when it blows? ... Do they wink back at me when I wish on a star? Do they whisper, 'You're perfect, just as you are'? ..."
The book offers a beautiful and comforting meditation on death, asking questions young readers might have about what happens to those they love after they die.
Together, Julia and Sabra will read from the book, talk about its origins and purpose and each will talk about her own process. Come meet these wonderful women! Event is Free and open to the public. Handicap accessible. RSVP to Connie Leach at cleach@residenceottercreek.com or (802)388-1220
