Indivisible Mad River Valley Meeting

Past event
Mar 19, 2017, 4:30 to 6 PM

Indivisible Mad River Valley (IMRV) is a group of concerned citizens in central Vermont, organizing and taking action on a variety of statewide and national issues. Many IMRV members bring expertise and a history of activism to the group, but no prior experience with activism or organizing is required to join. The first meeting of IMRV was February 5, 2017 and the group has been meeting bi-weekly since then. There are currently about 45 members and newcomers are always welcome.

Between meetings, IMRV communications happen through an email list, a Facebook group and a shared calendar of actions and events. Several of the group's organizers have been compiling a daily list of suggested actions which is posted every week to the calendar. IMRV also meets with organizers of other local action groups to coordinate and share ideas.

There are four focus committees of IMRV:
- Health Care
- Civil Rights
- Elections
- Environment

In addition to regular meetings, IMRV events have included:
- A Rally for Clean Water in Waterbury, VT
- Postcard storms for the Ides of Trump and Love Brigade
- Participation in ACLU People Power training
- Meeting with a representative of the Washington, DC-based Indivisible organization

Meetings are usually on Sundays, usually in a Mad River Valley town. For more information about IMRV, please request membership to the Facebook page or email me directly.
