5k Run/Walk to Benefit Loved Pony's Surgery

Past event
May 7, 2017, 8 to 11 AM

Country Cedars Farm/Mountain Moon Farm will be hosting a 5k walk/run benefit on Sunday, May 7 to raise funds for back surgery for one of our lesson ponies.

"Summer" is a well-loved, 11 year old pony mare who is suffering from kissing spine, a condition in which some of the vertebrae in her spine are too close together, resulting in contact and friction between the vertebrae. This causes Summer a fair amount of discomfort and she is currently not able to be ridden because of this condition. Without surgery, she would need to be retired. At such a young age and with so much potential, that would be both unfortunate and wasteful to let a wonderful pony end her career.

The Hope for Summer Benefit 5k will include a 1/2 mile dash for kids 8 and under ($8), and the 5k walk/run ($15 for 17 and under, $20 for adults). Check in for the dash is at 8, dash is at 8:30, 5k starts at 9. Free Chessters ice cream cookie sandwiches will be given to all participants who pre-register. Day-of registration is available for $5 extra and no guaranteed ice cream sandwich (limited number of extras will be available for day-ofs).

We are still getting registration materials organized, but wanted to get the word out asap! Inquire for more details or to express interest in registering. Thank you!
