Energy Efficient House Construction Workshop

Gather your questions and notebook for an Efficiency Vt. presentation on Energy Efficient House Construction at a home under construction.  The Craftsbury Energy Committee will be hosting the gathering on Mon., 3/20, 11 - 12:30, at Eric and Anne Hanson's house, 809 King Farm Rd., Craftsbury Common (driveway is Pageant Hill Rd.)  
   Efficiency Vt. will conduct air tightness and insulation tests with a blower door and an infra red gun.  With the walls and utilities still exposed, they will give a tour on Energy Efficient building construction practices and applications.  Included in the information sharing will be: -Insulation and air tightness - Energy Recovery Ventilator for fresh air - Energy Efficient Intus Windows - Structurally Insulated Panels (SIPs) - Cellulose insulation - Zip System sheathing and tape for air an barrier - Solar gain house design - Insulated concrete slab & sand heat sink - Closed combustion water heater and wood stove; and Soft-start well pump.  The residence will have an off-grid solar electric system later this year.
