A dolescent brain development, substance use and strategies for promoting emotional health in your families - Thursday, March 16th in the Crossett Brook Middle School Library from 6:30-8 PM

Come join Bert Klavens and Jennelle Alvin from the Healthy Youth Program / Washington County Youth Service Bureau for a discussion about adolescent brain development, substance use and strategies for promoting emotional health in your families. A short presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion.

The Healthy Youth Program (HYP) is a service of the Washington County Youth Service Bureau in Montpelier, Vermont. HYP serves youth 12-25 with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health issues and utilizes a Positive Youth Development, strength based treatment approach.

Bert Klavens, M.A. LADC is the Director of the Healthy Youth Program. Bert is a licensed addictions counselor, who has worked with youth, adults and families in Central Vermont for over 20 years. He is married with two adult children and a very large dog.

Jennelle Alvin MS LCMHC LADC has been a Clinician in the Healthy Youth Program (HYP) for 5 years. She enjoys working with a variety of clients on improving wellness and is an avid adventurer in her free time.
