This Woman Deserves a Party!
For close to 25 years, Megaera (Meg) Fitch served as the Adult Services Librarian/Tech Watchdog, and my very dear colleague at the Castleton Free Library. She retired approximately one year ago amidst a flurry of concern generated by a whack on the head. Seriously….acting as a devoted gardener who always puts her tools away, Meg was attacked by our storage bin lid, and rendered “not fit for dancing” for a while. But now the time has come to honor her legacy with a community ceilidh*!
This is a free event for everyone who knows Meg, and enjoyed talking with her at the library over books, and everyone else who never met Meg, but wishes they had. .
Please join us on Friday March 24th at 6:30 p.m. at the Castleton Elementary School for an evening of free music, contra dancing, and fun for all ages presented by Castleton Free Library. Music and calling will be provided by Marcos Levy and Mary Barron of Cold River Band. If you’ve never contra danced before, come learn. If you don’t want to dance, come listen to great music. If you hate music, come anyway, to hug Meg, talk to friends, and eat some snacks provided by the Friends of Castleton Free Library. Accessible, lots of parking, open to all. Questions? Call 468-5574 or email. We really hope to see you!
