A behind the scenes look into Standing Rock, the lives of Native resisters, the human heart, coal pits, bulldozers, sheep corrals, and the unwavering nature of the Native spirit.
In solidarity with the Indigenous Rights March in DC this Friday, we will be screening several short films by Vermont local Jesse Wiens, and Arizona Dineh (Navajo) resister NaBahe KatenayKeediniihii.
Included will be a tribute to the powerful Dakota activist John Trudell, an interview with the late Navajo matriarch (dear to my heart) Ida Clinton, documentaries of actions and marches at Standing Rock, including the solidarity march with Black Lives Matter and the Forgiveness march, documentation of Peabody Coal's destruction on Black Mesa, Vermont local Catherine Cadden of the Cherokee Nation speaking on empathy and her tranformative experience with a KKK member, and finally an interview with Dineh lambs, including their message for humanity. We will screen a piece on the Peace Walk for a Nuclear Free Western Shoshone territory and world, time permitting.
Suggested donation of $5-$10 collected at the door. All proceeds will be donated to legal fees for Stand Rock water protectors via the freshet collective fund.
Please join us for an eye opening evening of the ongoing wars that Native Americans have never stopped fighting.
The film screening will be at Christ Church, 64 State St, Montpelier at 5:30 on Friday, March 10th.
In Solidarity with all beings native to this planet.
