On November 12th at 7 pm, the Castleton Free Library will host a reading by Sydney Lea, Vermont's Poet Laureate. Booklist calls Lea "a northern treasure." He is a poet whose work is accessible to everyone. Vermont's Tom Slayton wrote, "You don't have to struggle or ponder to get the meaning of his words." He has published 10 volumes of poetry, received numerous national awards, founded The New England Review and it is an honor to have him come to us. One of his goals as our Poet Laureate is to read in as many of Vermont's libraries as possible.
The Friends of the Castleton Free Library will be providing goodies and there will be tea and coffee and time to talk to the author afterwards. If you have questions, call 468-5574 or email castletonfreelibrary@gmail.com.
