“Anti-Semitism: Then and Now”
The third in a series of community conversations, “Anti-Semitism: Then and Now” will take place Sunday, March 19th, 4-5:30 p.m., at The Middlebury Congregational Church (UCC). The church is located at 2 Main Street in Middlebury.
In response to the disturbing increase in anti-Semitic violence across the country in 2017, Rev. Andrew Nagy-Benson and Emily Joselson invite you to a panel discussion with four friends and neighbors: Robert Schine, Middlebury College’s Silberman Professor of Jewish Studies; Rebecca Ayako Bennette, Director of Jewish Studies and Associate Professor of History at Middlebury College; Jack Mayer, pediatrician and author of Before the Court of Heaven (about Weimar Germany and the rise of the Third Reich); and Jessica Lipnack, co-founder of NetAge and author of several books and blogs about networking.
We will explore anti-Semitism — past and present — in the context of intolerance in our society, and we will seek constructive ways to express solidarity and community in our day. Please join us.
